How Orthodontics Work
The goal of orthodontic treatment is to straighten your teeth so they function and look better, regardless of whether you are an adult, child, or teenager.
We achieve this goal using clear aligners or braces which put gentle pressure on your teeth in order to move them into their correct positions over the course of months or years.
Traditional Braces
Traditional braces, which are either made out of metal or ceramic, have been used for decades to straighten teeth. More recently, innovations in orthodontic technology have made braces which are more comfortable, are easier to care for and are low profile.
How Braces Straighten Teeth
Braces apply continuous pressure to the teeth over a period of time, slowly moving them into their new, corrected positions.
As the teeth move and pressure is applied, the bone of your jaw changes to accommodate the new positions of your teeth.
Invisalign Clear Aligners
Invisalign clear aligners gradually straighten your smile by using a series of custom-made clear plastic aligners that are adjusted over time.
Invisalign clear aligners can be removed when you'd prefer no one knew that you are undergoing orthodontic treatment.
Similar in appearance to custom whitening trays, Invisalign aligners can also be removed to eat, drink, brush and floss!
